Public Speaking
Since our debut presentation for TedxVermilion, LWW has taken on many extra projects, including participation in events and public speaking opportunities.
psychoeducation
All of our events are designed to empower, and educate. With clinical psychology backgrounds, we not only have the heart of activism, but knowledge to accompany it.
"AFTER ASSAULT"In 2017, we provided a psychoeducation night Greek Night for fraternity groups at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette.
Our goal was to start the conversation around sexual violence. This event helped begin the conversation of dismantling rape myths, and delving into the prolonged effects of sexual violence and trauma. For this event we partnered with a local Sexual Assault Response Center, Hearts of Hope, as well as the Louisiana Foundation Against Sexual Assault. |

Activism
We consider activism to be the heart of our mission statement, and part of that is giving women the autonomy to exercise their own creativity and amplify their voices.

For Sexual Assault Awareness Month in April of 2017, we partnered with previously aligned organizations, Hearts of Hope, and the Louisiana Foundation Against Sexual Assault, to put on a Take Back the Night vigil.
We were the primary organizers, and headed the marketing and all recruitment for this TBTN event. The event was a blend of expressive open-mic poetry, psycheducation from representatives of each organization, as well as art all along the walls. We were also able to feature the letters and artwork submitted to our organization--all of which can be seen by clicking this button: |
We thought it would be best to let the creator of "Mundane" describe what the project meant to her, as she was the creative force and LWW simply helped her find a structured outlet for her creative process. The following is from an interview with Belle Saucier:
"Mundane demonstrates the emotional maturity and integrity of the everyday human on screen... getting a simple yet necessary task done...juxtaposed by the installation pieces that are purely based off the four core feelings. I was inspired by an interview I heard with Raquel Willis, She said :"There has been a shift in our collective consciousness. If you think about a year ago (before times up movement)...when people would talk about things like white supremacy, misogyny, rape culture, or sexual assault you would kind of get looked at like you had a problem or you were some type of Radical. But now we see those things are so pervasive. And EVERYDAY PEOPLE are having these conversations at the dinner table."
